KIDS CHURCH

Kids Church is a program for children aged 1 through to year 5 which runs every Sunday morning during the 10am family service.

In 2026, we are excited to announce that there will be two services with children’s programs at 8.30am and 10.30am. These new Kids Church programs will be lead by Lauren Dewhurst, the full time children’s Minister at Menai Anglican Church.

The program begins with the K – 5 children in church with their parents. The whole church family enjoy singing and a family spot story together before the kids head out to their age group programs. The Kids Church program then follows the same bible passages as the adult are learning from in church so that the whole church family is learning together as one congregation.

Kids Church has three separate groups running each Sunday with age appropriate bible teaching and activities for each age group. Little Church, for children aged 1 to 5, Infants Kid Church, for K to yr 2 and Primary Kids Church, for year 3 – 6. See below for more information on each group. There is also a Junior MAC Youth program running concurrently to Kids Church for older siblings in year 6 – 8.

Lauren Dewhurst will soon begin as our New Children’s Minister in January 2026! She will be replacing Kelly Peter’s who is stepping down from the role but will continue to serve in the Kids Ministry Team.

Lauren will oversees our Monday afternoon kids’ club and our Sunday morning kids’ program. She will also be involved in the organisation of our July Holiday Kids Club Clubs, Church Camps, SRE assemblies and Christmas and Easter events.

Partnering with Parents

Partnering with parents in growing their children to know and love God is our prime focus. The family spot talk helps demonstrate to parents the language they can use to talk to their kids about the passage we are all learning about. Many parents also support Kids Church by volunteering on the Holiday program roster during the holidays and leading in the July Holiday Kids Club.
